Our 4-Stage Chromate Conversion Process
At Global Powder Coating, we utilise a comprehensive 4-stage chromating process designed to meet the highest industry standards. Our meticulous approach ensures every item receives a consistent, high-quality pre-treatment:
Acid Bath: Products are immersed in a high-quality acid solution to thoroughly clean the surface, removing any contaminants, oils, and the natural oxide layer that forms on aluminium.
Clean Water Rinse: A rinse with clean water removes any residual acid and prepares the surface for the next stage.
Chromate Conversion: The aluminium is treated with a chromate solution, which chemically reacts with the surface to create the protective, passivated film.
Final Rinse: A final freshwater rinse ensures the surface is clean and ready for the powder coating application.
