Our Services

Abrasive Blasting

Preparation is a vital part of producing professional, lasting powder coating results. Abrasive blasting (also known as grit blasting or sand blasting) will ensure the metal surface is clean and free from corrosion and that the powder adheres to the metal.

Our abrasive blasting capabilities range from gentle Class 1 etching through to heavy duty Class 3 preparation, and we can pre-treat your products and components to your exact specifications that meet Australian Standards. You can utilise this service in insolation (such as for car restoration), or in conjunction with our specialty powder coating services.

We utilise Garnet media in our treatments, due to its controlled and gentle nature. This ensures the protection of the underlying product and enables good surface preparation. We’re a unique abrasive blaster in the South East Queensland region, due to our large blast room.

Blast Room

  • Items up to 15m long x 5m high x 4.2m wide

Chromating

Our four-stage chromate conversion process is ideal for pre-treating aluminium. It’s a corrosion inhibitor and primer that provides great surface preparation for powder coating. We begin with an acid bath, before rinsing with clean water. The chromate conversion passivates the metal before a final fresh water rinse. Our huge chromating tanks are also monitored to ensure they meet Australian standards and to guarantee quality and consistency.

Tank Specifications

  • 8m long x 1m wide x 2m high

We also have an 6m x 3m Oversize Pre-treatment area. This area is used for our oversized aluminium products that require pre-treatment before coating. Products such as large toolboxes, aluminium gates and fences or aluminium canopies and trays are best suited to this area.

Powder Coating

With the latest in powder coating technology and equipment, Global Powder Coating delivers a superior finish, every time. Powder Coating is applied with specialised electrostatic equipment as a free flowing and dry powder, which is then cured in our ovens. The choice of colours is endless and includes standard, metallic, pearl, textures, clear coats and anti-graffiti options. We only use quality brands such as Dulux, Akzo, Jotun and Oxytech. The final product is a durable and hard finish that will look just as great in years to come, as it does when it comes out of our oven. Our standard QA checks include, Cure test, Thickness test, Cross hatch and Packaging where required.

Line 1

  • Powder booth – 4m long
  • Gas fired oven, under burner – 9m long x 1m wide x 2.1m high

Line 2

  • Powder booth – 8.5m long x 5.7m wide x 3.2m high
  • Batch oven, fan forced – 10.5m long x 3.1m wide x 3.2m high (fan forced with overhead rails system)

We also have an additional 3rd batch oven, 9 metres in length to help increase our overall capacity.

Specialty Coatings

EZigal

This superior, durable steel coating is ideal for high UV, salt and UV prone areas. EZigal is a heavy-duty metal protection and is often selected for ‘difficult to reach’ external fixtures where regular maintenance is impractical. It’s available in a wide range of standard and custom colours and offers an exceptionally smooth finish, that’s also highly attractive. EZigal also comes with a 10-year guarantee.

FBE Coating

Fusion bonded epoxy coating, commonly referred to as FBE coating, is an epoxy-based powder coating that is widely used to protect steel pipe used in pipeline construction, concrete reinforcing bars, and on a wide variety of piping connections, valves, fittings and flanges etc. from corrosion. With many applications located in severe environments and using harsh chemicals the risk of corrosion is high. An anti-corrosion coating is essential to reliability.

High Temperature Coatings

Our High Temperature Coatings are a silicone powder designed for use in high temperature applications. The pigments and resins create a performance coating able to withstand peak temperatures of up to 650 degrees Celsius and the repeated heating and cooling, specifically of exhaust systems among other substrates. Other suitable products such as exhaust systems, oven flues, heat shields, barbeques, etc benefit from this coating system, with its excellent UV resistance for outdoor applications.
